In less than perfect conditions, the local Stinga team of Greg Houston, Kevin Boylon, Patto and Boonie have taken out the Sydney bridge in a time of 44.34. The team pushed early in some average water to lead for the majority of the race, leading home Blazen, who after throwing a prop blade limped home to edge out Hellrazor by half a rope length across the line.
